How about this for a job to be proud of? It’s a make-up studio made by us (Rossmore Furniture, Dublin Rd, Monaghan) and fitted in a converted studio in Swords, Co Dublin.

Now when the good lady first mentioned pink studio furniture we had our doubts – however not only was the customer right but it looks fantastic too!We made a range of pieces – a large make-up mirror with golf ball lights. The counter top had a raised edge to stop items rolling off and also it had a sunken centre to give storage space without obscuring the view of the mirror – smart right? The counter top was shaped to give it a little style and we had fitted the lights and wiring in place so all she had to do was get her local electrician to wire it in. Great job! But the challenge didnt stop there – we had an office desk to make to compliment the mirror – space was limited so in the end we went with a simple rectangular desk with a pull out tray for the keyboard – she uses the laptop and has a wireless keyboard and mouse on the pull out tray for when she’s in the office – otherwise the laptop goes back inside the house!And finally there is a neat little magazine table – small but effective for the customers to put a cup of coffee down, or to store a magazine to keep the place looking tidy!Congratulations to Sonia in Swords and we hope her business continues to move forward during these tricky recession years!
